*Speakers did not attend as planned (Team Select and Pikes Peak Respite Services)

 

*Discussion of what happened in the summer meetings.

-Presenters were: 719Lacrosse, Stomp Out Autism

 

*719Lacrosse:

-Venue is changing for the lacrosse clinics

-September 9th presentations

-October event

-Trying to get into schools and work with special needs population

-Sent information to Special Olympics

-Will pass out business cards

 

*DuMyon Martial Arts stepped in as a guest speaker.

-Participated in an event at the World Arena.  Participants came home with medals.

-Met with Taekwondo instructors for Thailand and the Korean demonstration team and they are interested in coming in 2020 to try and help the para-taekwondo team

-Event one week from today.  Looking for sponsors. Gave out flyer.

-Hoping to open a branch in Las Vegas next year! International support has made this more possible.

 

*Need to create a new list for facilitators and note-takers.  Nichole B will type up a list and send it out.

 

-September 20: Alayne (PASCO) will facilitate, Delana (Library21C) will be note-taker

-October 18: Maryanne  (Dungarvin) will facilitate, Jaime (Independence Center) will notetake

-November 15: Maryanne (Dungarvin) will notetake, Shelly (Harmonized Brain Centers) facilitate

-December 20: Alayne (PASCO) will facilitate, Amanda (Our House) will notetake

-January 17 : Katie (Ute Pass Coordinator)  will notetake, Nicole (D12 coordinator) will facilitate

-February 21: Kim (D20 coordinatore  will notetake, Kendra (TRE) will facilitate

-March 21: Angel  (FSL) will facilitate, Cindy (Cerebral Palsy) will notetake

-May 16: Amanda (Our House)  will facilitate, Angel (FSL) will notetake

 

*PASCO has an upcoming event: Care for the Caregiver Social.  Mingling event for caregivers. Free childcare to include CNA and respite care.  Partnered with Peak Parent which will give them information. Peak parent in conjunction with PASCO  will be doing a parents night out the last week of September (ages 15-26 activities) so parents can go out.  

 

*Special Olympics: Saturday from 3-7pm will be at the tennis courts at Memorial.  9:00 am Sunday morning are doing softball, tennis, bocce ball and cycling. Please come and support!

 

*Annual fundraiser for shopping for Christmas, September 15th at Outlets of Castle Rock.  $30 ticket includes lunch, dessert bar, wine tasting area, photo booth, and a raffle ticket for giveaways.  $20 goes back to Harmonized Brain Center. See Shelly for tickets or go online.

 

*Autism Unified Autism Sensory play gym Saturday August 25th

 

*Harmonized brain center 10-11:30 on Saturday at 2149 N. Academy Blvd is running a Quality of Life event.

 

*The Independence Center are doing a networking event from 12:30-1:30 on September 4th.  October 11th they are running a Disability Awareness Forum from 10-2:00, October 30th they are doing a job fair at Hotel Elegante.

 

*We will be ordering more directories (Sonja will order) so districts and other agencies and get information out.
