PPITT November 2016 meeting minutes

Many thanks to Carol Van Ness, for compiling and promptly submitting last Thursday afternoon’s meeting minutes. MEETINGS WILL RESUME AT CUSTOMARY CITIZEN’S SERVICE CENTER LOCATION NEXT MONTH.

Erin Tucker from Airforce Academy Skating School

Therapeutic program- skating lessons $10

December 10- free session at Acacia Park

Grant Langdon from SWAP- School to Work Alliance Program

Presentation explaining role of SWAP (all school districts)

Serve individuals ages 15-24; assists with employment

Announcements:

D20- Career expo and opportunity fair- Chapel Hills Mall

Cerebral Palsy Assoc.- 6th annual 5k Ugly Sweater Run 12/3/16

Library 21C and East library have video phones; InTouch apps available on laptops

A Cognitive Connection- various upcoming classes: Social Skills with Legos- 1st Saturday of each month; Parenting with Love and Logic classes starting 1/10/17; Memory workshop 11/26/17.

A Rise Above HCBS Waiver representatives discussed available Medicaid programs for 0-18 statewide and 0-21 in El Paso County; handed out brochure

PPITT 2017 annual resource fair website information- Event Brite; should be more streamlined. Final deadline for vendor submissions- 3/1/17.  Marketing team volunteers: MaryAnne Cooper and Carol Van Ness (will ask Che’ Frey if he can also assist). Vendor table fee- $50. Printout of directories- spread throughout districts and agencies.

Next meeting – 12/15/16- resume Citizens Service Center location
