Overview
Safe in Home is a 24/7 virtual support service staffed by trained professionals in a live call center. The program supports individuals who live independently by providing remote, human-based assistance. It is not a camera system and not a traditional security system.

- Real-time assistance during emotional or behavioral challenges
- Wellness monitoring and supportive conversations

- Helps individuals maintain stability and independence at home

- Medication and routine reminders (as applicable)
- Wellness check-ins
- Encouragement and goal tracking
Data Collection
- Tracks activities or events occurring in the home
- Used to identify patterns and support care planning
- Not a surveillance or camera-based system

- Approved under select waiver programs (availability varies by state)
2. Disability Connections

Disability Connections is a nonprofit organization serving Colorado Springs. Their mission is to support children and adults with developmental disabilities by removing financial barriers that limit access to quality services. They assist individuals and families in accessing care, resources, and opportunities.

3. 2026 Annual Resource Fair for Individuals with Disabilities (Career Fair)

- Vendor registration will open soon
Logistics & Planning
- Jackie is coordinating volunteers
- The main parking lot is too small to accommodate all vendors.
- Vendors will park in a side lot after unloading.
- Setup Guidance: Do not arrive earlier than 4:00 PM; 4:00–5:00 PM is sufficient for setup.
Public Outreach
- Volunteers are needed to contact local radio and TV stations to request Public Service Announcements (PSAs).
- Publicity Team: Edgar and Priscillia
- Priscillia will contact local radio and television stations.
- Edgar will assist with publicity efforts and outreach.
Accessibility
- Naomi will serve as the ASL interpreter for the event- need to confirm

7. Valentine’s Day Dance
- Attendance was low.
- Discussion included expanding eligibility for the upcoming Cinco de Mayo dance.
- Consideration: Open the event to 9th and 10th grade students to increase participation.
Coordinators will fill in swag bags. We will include a QR code again. 200 hard copies of program. CSDB volunteered to be responsible for 50 copies of the resource booklet. Do not print QR code until Nicole says “Final Copy” In March, Edgar from Independence Center and Kayleigh from Family voices will speak. Nathanial will be the facilitator and D2 will notetake. We do not meet in April because the resource fair. May speakers are “About kids” and “Special Olympics” Kaaum will also present in May
