 Presentations:

Feel the Beats presentation:

• Non-profit dance studio for Individuals with ID, Autism, Mobility, and Deaf or hard of hearing
• Provide ASL
• to studios in Denver, expanding to Colorado Springs in 2025
  •  Looking for spaces to rent
  •  will be able to set up appointments at sites
• Work with people on grants and Partnerships and offer scholarships
•  all instructors have dance background
•  $70 per $12 students in studio, $140 on site up to 24

Cognitive Connections / Disabilities Connections presentation:

• Barely work with individuals with IDD and ID, but will work with any disability
• 12  certified / licensed counselors
•  multiple therapies available to meet needs of clients
• Supported program has over 50 providers 
•  part of Brain Injury Professional Network
•  some areas include attention skills, anxiety, social, coping skills, Mental Health, focus, PTSD
• Serve most of the TRE waivers,  do not take insurance
• HERO Program provides support to go after goals and pursue a better quality of life
• Disability connections scholarships available for needs

Agency Updates:

ARC

• event this Saturday 11/23  for Spanish Empowerment ( flyer provided)
• events monthly with speakers, promote inclusion and daycare is provided
• Provide support to anyone struggling with the language barrier and making connections
•  continuing to work  toward purchasing school for day programming

TRE

• Legislative Town Hall in November  to educate legislators about impacts of disabilities
  • many individuals last waivers recently
  •  case managers continue to be overwhelmed with too many cases to handle
•  new tracking form online to track application process

Martial Arts:

• Kick a Thon is currently going on
• We will start self-defense classes on January 8th.
• If you’re interested in joining Toastmasters, an International Public Speaking Organization contact Sterling 
• Martial arts classes will start on January 8th for D2, D8, D12 and D11 -Please get numbers to Sterling

Kaaum Enterprises:  Kevin Cameron

• Is a program that has residence for students with high behaviors (IDD w/behaviors) 19+
• Looking to open a staffed home in 2025, probably for males only at this point.
• Kevin would like to meet w/transition teams
• There is a part-time nurse, Rebecca, that would like a full-time position if anyone has an opening.
• Some Adult Day programming services
• No day programming now for younger students
• Staff doesn’t have high turnover and they love it there
• Finding 1:1’s for support
• Kaaum donated pizza’s for the Fall Dance

Dungarvin:

• Hosting an open house with wine and cheese from 3:00 to 5:00:00 p.m. -see flyer for more details

Winter Dance -Tuesday 12/10: 

• Discussion about how many we should allow since numbers were up
•  suggested just having transition students and only allowing 11th and 12th graders from high school – all approved
• Pasco will provide Pizza
•  cognitive connections will provide chips
•  Jordan? will provide cookies
• Nicole will send out flyer

Colorado Conservatory: 

• D2, d12, and d8  attended
• classes went well
• Talked about a class ukulele class coming up – more info to come 

Nicole proposed district-wide PPITT talent show

• Judges from agencies
• large venue needed to accommodate all attendees
  •  discussed possibly using d11 or D12 auditoriums

Resource Fair:

• April 17th at Hillside Community Center
•  a suggestion was made for providing more space for some vendors to meet with individuals with more specific questions
• Bags have been ordered

Next PPITT Meeting:

• December 19th at 1:00 p.m. at the Public House
•  limited menu provided- sign ups required
•  discussed having an ugly sweater contest
• No facilitator or Note Taker needed

PPITT Budget:

• Only $240.97 left in budget
•  need donations
•  suggestions to reach out to local businesses, news stations, and medical offices
