Speakers:

  1. Matthew Weed, PhD. spoke about his research: health professionals being exposed to chronically ill individuals in their homes and the large number of schools that provide that exposure.
  2. Nina/Jamie from the Independence Center reviewed

services: Individual Living, Home Health, CNA School, Advocacy.

Plan to expand into Monument/Fountain.

The IC offers classes for individuals in independent living: 16 programs, including employment readiness and retention.

Youth Transition Services offers classes such as disability awareness and etiquette, self-advocacy.

Home Health Care that is either physician directed care or client directed care.

ADA Coordinator presented information regarding helping people with disabilities or veterans who need assistance with technology and the application process, as well as job related disability assistance.

Etiquette class for businesses at the Citizens Service Center on October 6th from 9-12pm. RSVP.

There will be a job fair at Citizens Service Center on October 26th from 1-4pm.

 

Business related to PPITT:

The resource fair will be held on April 20th at Citizens Service Center.

We will need a committee for putting fair together. Tables will need to be reserved with a booth fee by mid-March.
