Notes from 10/19/17 PPITT meeting

Introductions were made around the room
Speaker- Darla Lindt- TWFG Insurance Services talked about Cyber security and suggestions for safeguarding and teaching the individuals we serve about Internet safety.
New business:
Cindy Powell will no longer be responsible for certain areas of PPITT
Katie Uebberth – website and email
Nicole Beaubvais- Facilitators and note takers- and sign in sheet
Rachel Williams will take over Facebook page
Carol Van Ness- will continue coordinating speakers
Starting January 2018 we will no longer will be meeting at El Paso County Community service center. We will be meeting at BOCES up until May 2019. Except summertime and April …Then it will be readdressed. Will need wheelchair accessibility.
Fair discussion
We will need a new location for the fair from now on.   Option could be the gym here at BOCES – There will be no cost
Another option would be asking Goodwill Possibilities about having the fair there.
We do not know what our budget is. We need a representative from the Arc (our fiscal agent) Conner/ Will Romero— we need to contact them— Grant will go to the Arc and get financials
We will ask City auditorium if they would donate the space.
Library 21C has a venue as well. – food might have to be ordered there. -Delana will check on the option about the fair.
We will need a side room for workshops- TRE, DVR, Arc? (Grant will ask)Rocky Mtn. Options?( Carol will ask) Aspen Pointe? (Jamie will ask) 45 min each
We will need to pay for interpreters.
Vendors will be charged $50 for a table-
Eventbrite system will be used for signups.
Carol will be making up a new flyer for this year once we have all the information set.
Directory updates- TRE will be donating copies for the fair (needing 500)
Lions camp is hosting a Haunted trail event on Oct 20th-28th
Sterling will be speaking on Oct 27 at Library 21C and offering a discounted package for self defense classes
Employment fair on Oct 26 from 1-4 pm sponsored by CDLE, Pikes Peak workforce center
A Cognitive Connection will be hosting a writing workshop on Sat. Oct 21 from 10-12.
There was no interpreter for today’s meeting. We need to assure that is coordinated.
